Federal grants available to foster technological innovation in the private sector will be the subject of a free Oct. 24 workshop at Mississippi State University.
Small business owners and managers are invited to attend the 1-5 p.m. program in Wise Center auditorium. The Wise Center is located in the northwest corner of campus, just off Blackjack Road.
Two Washington, D.C.-based representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will provide information about available competitive grants. They include deputy administrator Sally J. Rockey and program director Mark Bailey of USDA's Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service.
Their presentation also will focus on the National Research Initiative Competitive Grants and Small Business Innovation Program.
"This program emphasizes partnerships between public and private enterprises to stimulate technological innovation," said Robyn Remotigue, grants information specialist in the university's Sponsored Programs Administration.
Minority business representatives are strongly encouraged to apply, she added.
For more information, contact Remotigue at (601) 325-7404 or Kathryn Love of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station at 325-3000.
