Participants from Canada, Mexico, Korea, and more than 15 U.S. states will gather at Mississippi State University Monday (May 13) for a five-day conference on high voltage measurements.

The university is home to the High Voltage Laboratory, a part of the electrical and computer engineering department. The largest facility of its type at an American university, it is used for education, research and testing.

Among those attending the conference will be engineers and technical personnel from industry, utilities, and research laboratories, said lab director Stan Grzybowski.

They will receive intense instruction in such areas as alternating and direct high voltage, atmospheric correction, and electric and magnetic field effects. Lecturers include Mississippi State faculty members, as well as engineers and technical managers from Germany, Canada, New York, and Ohio.
