A Symposium on the Optimization of Learning and Teaching

Six internationally acclaimed scientists will give presentations on their cutting-edge research on optimizing learning and teaching during this event organized by Mississippi State's Center for Teaching and Learning and the Department of Psychology. The speakers include Robert Bjork of the University of California, Los Angeles; Daniel Schacter, Harvard University; Mark Guadagnoli, University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Thad Polk, University of Michigan; David Sherwood, University of Colorado, Boulder; and David Francis, University of Houston. Topics range from the importance of becoming an effective learner to practical implications for learning in educational contexts. An opportunity for asking questions will be provided. Faculty are invited to an 8 a.m. breakfast with the speakers that will be held in the Colvard Student Union's second-floor Old Main Lounge.
