September 29, 2016 - 5:00 pm

About this event

Join the Mississippi State College of Architecture, Art and Design's Department of Art for an opening reception celebrating its newest exhibit at the McComas Hall art gallery! On display Sept. 29-Nov. 11, "Artists of the 1913 Armory Show" features work from the Jackson-based Mississippi Museum of Art's collection by American artists who contributed work to the pivotal Armory Show in New York City. The groundbreaking exhibition presented to the American public was the first comprehensive look at avant-garde art innovations in Europe and set the stage for the American Modernism that followed. "Artists of the 1913 Armory Show" offers a glimpse into the early decades of modern art in America. All are welcome, and refreshments will be served. Click the "Link" below for more information. We look forward to seeing you!
