About this event

Free and open to all, this lecture by James Carhart is part of an annual series sponsored through a generous gift by Freda Wallace Harrison and Robert V. M. Harrison, Ph.D., FAIA, FCSI. A native of Colombia currently residing in Brooklyn, New York, Carhart has worked for more than 25 years on museum and exhibition design at Ralph Appelbaum Associates in New York. He was trained as an architect at the University of Florida and the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Cathcart’s own practice focuses on architectural investigations that explore the parallels between the social, political, cultural and tectonic structures. His work has been exhibited and published internationally, and he is a founding member of the icebergproject.org collaborative. Cathcart's book “Gravity” (Pamphlet Architecture #23) was published by Princeton Press. Click the "Link" below for more information.
