Becky Hagenston, associate professor of English at Mississippi State, will be reading from and signing copies of her brand new, 2015 Permafrost Prize-winning short story collection titled "Scavengers." Becky Hagenston is the author of Scavengers, as well as two other story collections, Strange Weather (Press 53, winner of the Spokane Prize) and A Gram of Mars (winner of Sarabande Books’ Mary McCarthy Prize). Twice the recipient of the O. Henry Award, she has also won the Great Lakes Colleges Association New Writers Award, the Julia Peterkin Award, the Reynolds Price Short Fiction Prize, and received a residency to Yaddo. She has received scholarships from Bread Loaf, Sewanee and the Summer Literary Seminars in St. Petersburg, Russia.
