Dorothy Allison, best-selling author of seven fiction books including the novel "Bastard Out of Carolina," will give a public reading and discuss her work. The MSU Institute for the Humanities' Writer in Residence, Allison has been widely hailed for writings that tackle aspects relating to gender and working class Southern life with frankness and disarming humor.
