About this event
Thodos Dance Chicago, a dynamic contemporary dance company praised for its athleticism and distinctive choreographic voice, interprets an inspiring American story through movement and music. "A Light in the Dark: The Story of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan" explores how a caring teacher helped guide a blind and deaf girl into a career as an internationally acclaimed writer and political activist. Company founder Melissa Thodos and Broadway legend Ann Reinking co-choreographed the piece to a score created by composer Bruce Wolosoff. The program will also feature other works from the company’s award-winning repertoire. Thodos gives its dancers complete freedom to create their own work with wildly creative results. The performance is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Tickets may be purchased online, by phone or in person at the MSU Riley Center Box Office. Click the "Link" below for more information.
